ECS Wins IT Florida Excellence in IT Leadership Award
October 7, 2008. Orlando, Fla. Engineering & Computer Simulations (ECS) announced today they are recipients of the prestigious IT Florida Excellence in IT Leadership Award. The award honored ECS for its innovative and creative approach to implementing IT solutions that harness the power of information technology to answer challenging education and training requirements. ECS, a pioneer in using game technology for simulation and training, expanded its core competencies to include the “virtual worlds” market. US Nexus, being developed under a $30 Million National Guard contract awarded to ECS last fall, was the first of several recent virtual worlds contracts.
ECS supports a growing number of customers with its virtual world’s technologies including the National Guard, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, and other military and civilian organizations. Both military and civilian first responders, educators, and medical professionals are using the on-line collaboration, virtual world technologies. From simple applications, such as conducting meetings, to very complicated exercises that rehearse thousands of emergency personnel in responding to disaster relief or mass casualty situations, ECS is providing stable and secure on-line information technology tools to improve quality of life for Americans.
