ECS Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3) Chosen as I/ITSEC 2007 Serious Games Finalist

Orlando, FL.  November 1, 2007.  ECS announced that its Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3) system was selected as a finalist in the 2007 I/ITSEC (Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference) serious games competition.  As a finalist, the TC3 is showcased during the upcoming conference at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, November 26-29, 2007, and competes for the “People’s Choice Award”.

TC3 provides combat medics the training they need to ensure successful treatment of wounded warriors on the battlefield.  The game combines advanced interactive training with distributed learning and 3D simulations to produce a hands-on trainer that immerses students into scenarios that teach proper casualty treatment procedures from the moment a first responder arrives on the scene until the casualty is evacuated to a treatment facility.   It allows combat medics to practice focused life-saving skills and was developed using lessons learned from combat medics’ real combat experiences.

The TC3 simulation provides tactical combat casualty care training to all military service combat medics and civilian first responders.  ECS delivered the first games to the Army’s Medical Department Center and School at Fort Sam Houston, TX, earlier this year.  ECS developed the TC3 simulation under contract with the U.S. Army RDECOM Simulation & Training Technology Center (the Army’s Research and Development arm in Orlando, FL).  The featured software will receive wide distribution as one of the Army’s first training and simulation programs to be distributed on the Army’s Knowledge Online system – making the program available to approximately 50,000 combat medics.
