ECS is seeking a skilled 3D modeler who has experience developing realistic immersive training applications using Unreal. The ideal candidate will have experience in Unreal game engine, developing a range of 3D models and assets, but most specifically hard-surface models. ECS seeks a self-starter with initiative, and great communications skills who will work well on an agile development team. This position falls under the supervision of the Development Director and a designated Site/Team Lead. This is a full-time position, working out of the Orlando Headquarters, with the possibility of working off site at the Customer Facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create accurate, high-fidelity 3D models within specifications and ensure graphic assets fully satisfy the requirements specified
  • Assist with integrating 3D models and assets into the established development pipeline for Unreal game engine
  • Attend regular meetings with development team and subject matter experts to review the status of work in progress, discuss new tasks, and to establish targets for completion of specific items
  • Support development of an immersive, interactive, 3D simulations and serious games by working with artists, programmers, and subject matter experts to develop the end product
  • Support Quality Assurance during product testing and respond to and resolve asset-related issues or defects

Demonstrate industry standard 3D modeling and game development best practices


Required Qualifications:

  • 3D Skills: Experienced in Hard Surface Real-time Modeling, UV Unwrapping, Animation
  • Software: Proficient in Autodesk 3dsmax and/or Maya
  • Software: Experienced in Unreal Game Engine or comparable modern game engine (e.g. Unity3D)
  • 2D Skills: Experienced in Photorealistic Texturing, Real-time Material Texture Maps, Photo Manipulation
  • Photography Skills: Experienced in digital photography/editing for capturing and manipulating reference data
  • Strong portfolio showcasing best, recent, or most relevant work
  • Security Clearance Required

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Game Engine Skills: Realistic Level Design, Real-time Lighting, Character Editing & Animation, Layer/File Structure, Procedural Textures/Materials, Shader Functionality, UGUI User Interfaces
  • Reality Capture: Utilizing reference data including 3D Scan Data, Point Clouds, and Photogrammetry
  • Technical Art Skills: Including Scripting, Tool Development, Shader Development, and Procedural Materials
  • Experience in other high fidelity Game Engines such as CryEngine, VBS3, etc.
  • Experience with Task and Issue tracking software such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence
  • Proficiency with Revision Control Software such as SVN, Git, Perforce

Professional Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, keen attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines consistently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • PC Skills: Experienced in Windows 10 operating system

An art test will be provided  before/during interview process, with satisfactory completion of test required for consideration or eligibility
