Scrum Master, Orlando Florida


ECS is seeking a seasoned Scrum Master who can help lead and support multiple software development teams focused on building advanced learning technologies. As Scrum Master, you will utilize communication, technical, and organization skills to remove impediments, enhance collaboration, and ensure that the team delivers value to the customer. Your primary objective is to ensure that the team produces the highest quality software possible providing tangible value to customers. You must demonstrate the ability to coach a software development team effectively in an agile environment. The Scrum Master reports directly to the Development Director. This position is in support of the ECS Orlando Operations, but can be performed remotely if necessary.

  • Schedule and facilitate meetings using formal scrum practices which includes daily scrum (standups), sprint planning, sprint demos, retrospectives, etc.)
  • Properly manage the backlog with the Product Owner and aid Development team in determining suitable commitments and scheduling for sprints
  • Create a positive and easy communication channel (team, product owner, stakeholders)
  • Protect the team from outside interruptions, distractions, and remove impediments
  • Address team dynamics, resolve conflict, and identify resource constraints
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity and innovation
  • Coach and guide the development team to ensure Agile practices are followed
  • Ensure scheduled deliverables timelines are successfully met (milestones, software releases)
  • Identify, Gather, and Track requirements and features throughout the project lifecycle
  • Contribute to Project Control Monitoring including maintaining schedules and budgets (working closely with Controller and Development Director)
  • Schedule timely quality control (testing) and coordinate with the Quality Assurance Lead and Testers
  • Contribute to Continual Process Improvement for Project Lifecycle Processes, Procedures, and Workflows


  • Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills, both oral and written, for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with Software Development and/or Game Development Teams with an understanding of software development and software quality disciplines
  • Strong understanding of Scrum and Kanban principles
  • Passion for leading Scrum teams to continually improve quality and delivery
  • Strong Leadership Qualities and Team Player
  • Keen Attention to Detail and Organizational Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Experienced in Windows 7+ operating systems
  • Experience with Agile tracking and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.)

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Project Management experience with Project Management Certifications such as PMP or PMI
  • Process experience with CMMI Quality Management Standards
