Applied Research

  • Advance research by designing and executing successful experiments or studies which provide our clients with reliable and valid data to support their research efforts
  • Assist our clients with identifying sponsors and champions of the research within the DoD (or other government agency) or medical community
  • Assist our clients by conducting observations or data collections that provide valid and reliable data on current instructional methods or approaches in order to produce prototypes that will align with current doctrine or instruction
  • Serve as an integrator of emerging technologies to build prototypes used in experiments or studies
  • Serve the research community through publications and conference presentations

     Learning Transformation

  • Provide performance consulting to assist clients with identifying their performance needs and gaps
  • Produce training, learning, assessment, and educational products for our clients that are designed to address performance needs and close performance gaps (e.g., courseware, instructor-led solutions, performance support solutions or job aids, part-task trainers, or simulations)
  • Conduct training, learning, assessment, and educational product effectiveness evaluations (known as Kirkpatrick Level III evaluations) to assist clients with determining return on investment on current instructional solutions
  • Conduct innovation needs assessments for our clients to identify areas where they can improve training, learning, assessment, and education within their organization through use of emerging technologies
  • Support clients in organically adopting improved training, learning, assessment, or educational practices within their organization

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Human Performance, Instructional Design, or related area within Learning Science discipline
  • 10 years of related experience with demonstrated knowledge and experience within human performance, Familiar with instructional design and/or learning science
  • Problem solving skills and ability to navigate a matrix organization
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing deadlines
  • Advanced communication skills; both oral and written
  • Customer focus and teamwork orientation
  • Must be a US Citizen as defined by NIPSOM and be able to obtain and maintain at a minimum an Active SECRET / T3 security clearance
  • Pre-employment federal level drug screening and background checks are standard

Competencies/Skills/Experience:

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage and supervise a full spectrum Learning Science Dept
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Subject matter expert (SME) in the areas of human performance, instructional design and learning science
  • Experience in forecasting and in generating metrics
  • Excellent editing, proofreading and writing skills, with the ability to write persuasive proposal text
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional meetings
  • High level of attention to detail is essential
  • Ability to prioritize workload, have a strong team player attitude, ability to multi-task, work under pressure
  • Analytical skills and an ability to filter and distill information to the appropriate audience
  • Flexibility in working with others at all levels of the organization
