Description:

Games for Training Instructor will instruct using VBS3 simulations to assist unit collective training at the squad level or above; doctrinal, operational, and tactical training methodology knowledge as well as technological developments and trends; assist unit leadership in planning training to meet objectives; identify gaps and work with the MTC team to fill prior to execution of training; serve as mentor and observer/trainer; and gather observations based on unit actions during training and provide input to unit AARs.

Work Locations: Ft Bliss TX, Ft Carson CO, FT Hood TX, FT Riley KS, FT Sill, OK

Responsibilities:

  • Use Army GFT to conduct collective training
  • Proficient running any system in the facility without supervision, as well as developing training scenarios and products that meet the unit requirements and Commanders’ training intent
  • Coach Soldiers on the use of gaming hardware for training and assist the customers on achieving their goals
  • Supervise GfT Operator during preparation and execution of training
  • Able to learn multiple simulation and tactical communication systems
  • Brief leaders, visitors, and distinguished guests on facility overview and hands-on user experiences that showcase the capabilities of the systems and the professional competence of the staff
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and correct system issues
  • Maintain a common database of add-ons that allows speedy integration of multiple systems into a single simulation when required by unit training events
  • Support other training requirements within the Mission Training Center team as needed
  • Assist the preparation of and execution of After Action Reviews (AARs) for supported training events

Requirements:

  • Possess bachelor’s degree or higher, 8+ years of related work experience
  • Familiar with the basic operation of Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS)
  • Qualified instructor on the Virtual Battle Space 3 (VBS3), Low Overhead Training Systems (LOTS), & DXTRS
  • Familiar with current military regulations, policies and standards
  • Proven success managing multiple projects /tasks; interfacing with multiple contractors, Government, and US military personnel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Possess or able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability to pick up and move a 50+ pounds
  • 8+ years’ simulation training experience
  • Military leadership experience at company or higher level
