ECS wins at 15th Annual Horizon Interactive Awards competition

Orlando, FL – May 17, 2017 – Engineering and Computer Simulations (ECS) has won three top awards for digital simulations designed to train health professionals and NATO employees. The Horizon Interactive Awards, a leading international competition, recognized ECS in three categories, highlighting the “best of the best” in interactive media production for 2016.

ECS was selected:

–Best of Category winner in the mobile apps game category for its Clinical Skills simulation training, developed for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs U.S. Army Research Laboratory, Simulation & Training Technology Center

–Gold winner in the government agency category for its NATO Virtual Operational Headquarters

–Gold winner in the training/e-learning category for its NATO Virtual Operational Headquarters

The company is a frequent winner in the Horizon Interactive Awards competition, having won 14 awards since first beginning to enter in 2007, with 11 awarded in the last three years.

Mick Golson, ECS Vice President, Operations, said: “The awards are nice, and we’re happy to win them, of course, but we’re most proud of the performance improvements we’ve seen in our clients’ workforce because of these products. The interactive simulations we design can exactly replicate a client’s work environment, so whether it’s a doctor or nurse perfecting clinical skills and communication with patients, or a global workforce, like NATO, creating efficiencies in their interactions, the end-result that we’re focused on is a more effective and efficient team for the client.”

The 15th annual, international competition saw over 1200 entries from around the world, including 40 out of 50 U.S. states and 20 countries: Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Germany, Greenland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Uruguay and others.

An international panel of judges, consisting of industry professionals with diverse backgrounds evaluated categories ranging from online advertising to mobile applications. The 2016 winning entries showcase the industry’s best interactive media solutions, including web sites, mobile applications, print media, interactive displays, public exhibits, online advertising, video, email and more.

“The 2016 competition represents an outstanding execution of industry trends in terms of strategic online solutions and integrated campaigns through multiple media,” said Mike Sauce, Founder of the Horizon Interactive Awards. “Many of our top award winners have continued to stay on the cutting edge of technology while maintaining the high bar for visual design.”
