Waymon Armstrong

Waymon Armstrong | CEO
Recognized as both a forerunner and visionary in the simulation and training industry, Waymon Armstrong provides strategic leadership to ECS. He has been consistently recognized for his entrepreneurship, business leadership and contributions to the community.
Waymon is a frequent speaker at global, national and regional conferences, including keynote appearances at I/ITSEC, MODSIM World and the SMART Awards, as well as presentations at various technology and business events. He has chaired the Orange County (Fla.) Mayor’s Modeling, Simulation and Training Blue Ribbon Commission; Leadership Orlando and Orlando, Inc.
He has been recognized as the National Small Business Administration (SBA) Small Businessperson of the Year and honored as an Entrepreneurial Vanguard in the Mid-Florida Business Hall of Fame by Junior Achievement of Central Florida. Armstrong has also been named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award Finalist and a Valencia College Distinguished Alumni, and has received the Lifework Leadership Legacy Award, among other distinctions.
Waymon is the past chair of the Central Florida Foundation Board of Directors and continues to serve on its board. He also serves on the Valencia College Foundation and Blood Cancer United – North Florida Region boards.

Mick Golson

Mick Golson | President
Mick Golson leads the Senior Leadership Team in developing and executing strategic vision, technical innovation, and operational execution for the firm. With extensive experience in advanced simulation, immersive training technologies, and engineering leadership, he guides multidisciplinary teams in delivering cutting-edge solutions for defense, public safety, and commercial clients. Mick is committed to fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, ensuring ECS remains at the forefront of modeling, simulation, and training (MS&T) expertise.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in management with a minor in computer systems from the University of Maryland as well as a Master of Science in Computer Science from Central Michigan University. He has published papers in the fields of human dimension modeling in tactical level environments: The Importance of Agile Combat Support (Logistics) in Today’s Military Environment and Towards Simulating the Complex Nature of Asymmetric Operations in Tactical Immersive Environments.

Teresa Sturges

A results-driven financial leader, Teresa Sturges specializes in process improvement and analytical best practices. With a background as a senior accountant and financial analyst within Central Florida’s MS&T sector, she ensures organizational health through meticulous financial management and a client-first mindset.
Teresa holds advanced degrees from the University of Central Florida and Rollins College-Crummer Graduate School of Business, combining technical mastery with a strategic regional network.

Gregory Kane

Gregory Kane | Chief Operating Officer
A West Point graduate with over 31 years of uniformed service in the U.S. Army and 15 years of defense industry experience, Colonel (Retired) Greg Kane brings extensive operations and program management expertise in the government and simulation sectors to his role as COO. A proven manager who embraces innovative ideas, he strengthens internal measures, while enhancing relationships with the company’s customers and partners, and leads the technical and creative services teams.
Greg has managed critical Army programs within combat, peacekeeping, and humanitarian settings and commanded Infantry organizations from Company through Brigade levels. He utilized his strong operations background to transition to the simulation industry where he has led program management teams for global companies in the defense, government, and commercial sectors.
He holds a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in aerospace engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a master’s degree in political science from Auburn University, and a master’s degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College.

Shane Taber

Shane Taber | Chief Technology Officer
Shane Taber leads the company’s strategy for advancing emerging technologies that enhance military training and education. Throughout his 23‑year career, he has driven the design and development of flagship simulation programs, including the Tactical Combat Casualty Care Simulation (TC3Sim) and the VA Virtual Medical Center (VA‑VMC). He serves as Principal Investigator on multiple R&D efforts exploring the operational use of Extended Reality (XR), Augmented and Virtual Reality, Synthetic Training Environments (STE), advanced haptics, and other next‑generation training tools.
His background spans fine art, video production, digital media, real‑time 3D development, and serious games, and he has previously held roles as Creative Director, Project Manager, Development Director, and Senior Leader within ECS. Before joining ECS, Shane conducted pioneering mixed‑reality research at the Institute for Simulation and Training (IST), contributing to early breakthroughs in Mixed Reality, developing military training prototypes, STEM museum experiences, and supporting cognitive rehabilitation studies.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media and Interactive Entertainment from the University of Central Florida and maintains professional credentials as a Certified Scrum Product Owner along with certificates in project management and CMMI.

John Jansen

John Jansen | Vice President of Contracts
John Jansen has over 30+ years of contracting experience, extensive professional experience in key management positions and a portfolio of specialized skills in government and military contracts and procurement actions. He performs the critical roles of maintaining ECS’s contract compliance and helping the company reach its growth targets while providing superior contract management support to its current government and commercial customer base.
His experience includes issuing, evaluating, awarding, and managing multiple high-dollar, complex, multi-type Contracts and Delivery Orders for the all Branches of the U.S. Department of Defense, with special emphasis in support of the Army’s CPE ST3, and various offices within the Air Force in addition to multiple independent and executive agencies, such as NASA, Office of Personnel Management (OPM), National Science Foundation (NSF), Defense Health Agency (DHA), and others. He also supports commercial contracts at ECS for industry customers.
John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, specializing in economics, from the University of Central Florida, as well as a Master of Science degree in contract and acquisition management, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Florida Institute of Technology.

Andrea Rodriguez

Andrea Rodriguez has more than 22 years of experience in international business, trade compliance, and program management—particularly in defense and global operations. At ECS, she leads compliance initiatives that ensure adherence to international trade and immigration regulations while managing risks tied to global transactions and deployments. As Deputy Program Manager for the Army’s TADSS Maintenance Program in Korea and Ft. Irwin, she oversees day-to-day operations and site coordination to support Army training objectives. Rodriguez is highly skilled in navigating complex areas such as global entry requirements, work permits, import/export controls, and sanctions compliance. She has a strong track record in streamlining procurement processes, negotiating cost-effective contracts, and ensuring timely delivery in high-pressure environments. She collaborates effectively with internal teams, government agencies, and international partners to advance operational efficiency and compliance. Rodriguez holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a focus on Criminal Psychology and an MBA in International Business with an emphasis on International Relations and Policy.
