Engineering & Computer Simulations (ECS) is pleased to announce it was awarded a contract for the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (SHIELD) indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with a ceiling of $151B. This contract encompasses a broad range of work areas that allows for the rapid delivery of innovative capabilities to the warfighter with increased speed and agility.

As one of MDA’s primary modernization pathways, SHIELD supports the evolution of the nation’s integrated missile defense architecture. The vehicle accelerates the adoption of next-generation technologies and enables industry partners to provide advanced modeling, simulation, training, digital engineering, and software solutions that strengthen mission readiness and operational performance.

“We are honored to be selected for the SHIELD contract and to support MDA’s mission at such a pivotal time,” said Greg Kane, chief operating officer of ECS. “This award reinforces ECS’s commitment to delivering flexible, high-impact solutions that help warfighters prepare for the growing complexity of modern missile defense operations.”

SHIELD creates new opportunities for the modeling, simulation and training (MS&T) industry to develop immersive environments, decision-support tools, and high-fidelity simulations that allow operators to visualize threats, rehearse complex missions, and enhance readiness across multi-domain operations.

ECS is an award-winning small business who was also recently awarded One Semi-Automated Forces (OneSAF) by ACC-Orlando, further demonstrating the firm’s engineering and constructive capabilities.
