Orlando – October 25, 2018 – Waymon Armstrong, CEO & President of Engineering & Computer Simulations (ECS) was honored as the Entrepreneurial Vanguard at the 2018 Mid-Florida Business Hall of Fame this evening at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando. The award was presented by Junior Achievement of Central Florida (JACF).

“The Entrepreneurial Vanguard Award (EVA) honors an entrepreneur whose vision and courage has built a lasting business in Central Florida. It provides Junior Achievement the opportunity to honor and thank an outstanding, local businessperson who is ensuring the success of private enterprise. Waymon is an amazing partner and advocate to our community and an inspirational role model for our next generation of business leaders,” said Kathy Panter, JACF President.

Armstrong’s daughter, Allie, a First Academy student and JACF participant, presented the award to her father at the event that was attended by over 1,000 guests including more than 80 past JACF laureates and honorees, business and community leaders, educators and students. Other honorees included Dr. E. Ann McGee, President Emerita, Seminole State College as Laureate; Rick Walsh, Chairman/CEO, Knob Hill Companies as Laureate; and Tony Massey, President, Massey Services as the Spirit of Achievement recipient.

Armstrong was selected as the EVA by a distinguished selection committee based on his successful entrepreneurial endeavors; his innovative thinking, vision and courage to develop new ideas; his community-mindedness and inspirational leadership in business, and his excellent moral character. In addition, the awardee must have started a business in Central Florida that has remained successful for at least 10 years.
